Veteran and Military-Connected Student Advising!

MCC assists military students and their families by accessing available federal and state educational benefits.

  • Developing your academic plan
  • Guiding you as you complete your degree
  • Evaluating how your Joint Service Transcript (JST) can help achieve your goals.
  • Using veteran or military education benefits

We encourage you to visit our Veterans Resource Center (VRC) for additional resources and services.

To receive Educational Veteran Benefits, students must have their courses certified each semester. Please review and complete the appropriate process below.

To use your veteran or military education benefits, you must:

  1. Complete MCC’s application and registration process.
  2. Upload a PDF copy of your DD214
  3. Upload a PDF print-out of your Certificate of Eligibility/Summary of Education Benefits (Log into your myVA account to print a PDF copy of your benefits)
  4. Complete the Certification Request Form (Once your semester schedule is final.)

*Chapter 31 - Veteran Readiness & Education students please follow the certifcation process below.

If you are a returning student who has used VA or DoD education benefits before at MCC, you must do the following each semester:

  1. Review your MCC account for holds and register for courses that fall in the major section of your MyDegreeAudit in MyMCC. Advising support is available.
  2. Complete the Certification Request Form (Once your semester schedule is final.)

(Optional) Upload an updated PDF of your Summary of Education Benefits (from your myVA account).

*Chapter 31 - Veteran Readiness & Education students please follow the certifcation process below.

To use your veteran or military education benefits with Chater 31 VR&E, you must:

  1. Complete MCC’s application and registration process, if you are not already an MCC current student.
  2. Reach out to your VR&E Counselor at the VA and discuss your course plan. (Log into your myVA for contact information.)
  3. Have your VR&E Counselor at the VA send authorization to MCC each semester. (Once your semester schedule is final.)
  4. Complete the Certification Request Form each semester.

Monthly Enrollment Verification is required for students using the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.

Please note:

  • A registration hold (VA Benefits Certified See SCO) will be placed on your account after completing the certification request. This ensures you meet with a School Certifying Official if you plan to make any changes to your class schedule.

***Unapproved changes may result in potential academic and/or financial ramifications.

  • You are responsible for tracking your remaining eligibility.
  • Students who have left MCC for more than 2 years must:
    • Complete an updated MCC Admission Application
    • Upload an updated Certificate of Eligibility.
