Middlesex Community College is preparing new students for the Fall 2026 semester by hosting open hours on the Bedford Campus. Entitled Swoop Into MCC, the summer sessions help accepted students kick off their college journey before classes begin on Tuesday, September 8.

“We encourage new students to attend a Swoop Into MCC session to complete all the necessary tasks they need to start classes this Fall,” said Jennifer Migliozzi, MCC’s Assistant Dean of Admissions. “Welcoming students to the MCC community, these sessions set them up for success by introducing them to the wide range of resources and support services available to them at Middlesex.”

During the sessions, students will be able to complete an application to the college, submit their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), and register for classes. They will also have an opportunity to connect with staff from across the college to have their questions answered.

Swoop Into MCC sessions will also discuss the benefits of free community college. The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow all eligible Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free with no tuition or fees and an allowance for books and supplies for certain students.

Swoop Into MCC sessions will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Bedford Campus Enrollment Center. They will also be offered online from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays.

Over the summer, Middlesex will also host Walk-in Wednesdays to get new and current students ready for the upcoming semester. During these sessions, students can complete all their enrollment steps, submit their placement, and register for classes at times that best fit their schedules.

Students can attend Walk-in Wednesdays to learn more about meeting with their academic advisor to review their path and access MCC’s free academic support services, including tutoring. No appointments are needed from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays over the summer in MCC’s Bedford Enrollment Center.

“Our Enrollment Specialists are available throughout the summer to prepare you for the Fall 2026 semester,” said Yohanka Tejada, MCC’s Interim Assistant Dean of Advising & Pathways. “By registering now, you’re setting yourself up for success, will be less stressed, and have more peace of mind as you enjoy the summer months. Classes are filling up quickly, so it’s important to meet with your advisor and register as soon as possible to secure the courses you need. Take advantage of our Walk-in Wednesdays to connect with staff and learn all about the resources and support services we offer.”
