Middlesex Community College’s Fall 2025 Mini-mester II kicks off Monday, October 27. The popular, convenient and accelerated option allows students to complete classes in just eight weeks.

“With MCC’s Mini-mesters, students can start their education on their own terms, at a time that works best for them,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “Taking Mini-mester classes may also help students fit more classes into their schedules and finish their programs faster. This gets them on track to reach their goals, transfer to a four-year institution, and enter the workforce as quickly as possible.”

The accelerated eight-week Mini-mesters offer the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. Students can earn transferable college credits while completing general education requirements.

Subjects taught as part of Mini-mester II include the arts and humanities, business, social science, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Classes may be offered on-campus, online, hybrid or hyflex.

No matter your age or income, community college is now free in Massachusetts! The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow all Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free. This includes students taking classes as part of Mini-mester II.

The college will host two Open Houses this Fall. An Arts and Communication Spotlight Open House will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at the Academic Arts Center in Lowell. The Bedford Open House will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5 in the Enrollment Center.

“An Open House is one of the best way students can introduce themselves to all that MCC has to offer,” O’Neil said. “Students interested in the arts and communication fields can visit our state-of-the-art Academic Arts Center to learn about our programs and see where performances are held for theatre, music and dance students. For those wanting to pursue other subjects, our Bedford Open House will provide information on the over 80 degree, certificate and industry credential programs.”
