Middlesex Community College is preparing new students for the Fall 2025 semester. Entitled Swoop into MCC, the summer sessions help accepted students kick off their college journey before classes begin.
“We encourage new students to attend a Swoop into MCC session to complete all the necessary tasks they need to start classes this Fall,” said Jennifer Migliozzi, MCC’s Assistant Dean of Admissions. “Welcoming students to the MCC community, these sessions set them up for success by introducing them to the wide range of resources and support services available to them at Middlesex.”
During the sessions, students will be able to complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and do placement for courses such as English and mathematics. Students will also have a chance to meet staff from key departments across Middlesex, including working with an academic advisor to register for classes.
Swoop into MCC sessions will also discuss the benefits of free community college. The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow all eligible Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free with no tuition or fees and an allowance for books and supplies for certain students.
“One of the benefits of the Swoop into MCC sessions is having access to our financial aid counselors,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “Whether you have a question about your financial aid eligibility or need help completing your FAFSA or MAFSA (Massachusetts Application for State Financial Aid), we’re here to help you go through the process.”
Swoop into MCC sessions will take place 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, as well as noon to 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays through the week of August 11. All events will take place in the Federal Building of MCC’s Lowell Campus.
