Day of Love, Acceptance and Belonging • April 28, 2026
Join us to reflect and explore how MCC fosters connection, counters hate, and celebrates our shared humanity through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and creative expression.

Community Mural with Artist Sara Bernal Gomez  Lowell Campus, Upper Café | 10:00 – 11:30 AM 
Contribute to a collaborative mural that celebrates identity, belonging, and shared experiences. No artistic experience needed! Just bring your voice and creativity! 

Lecture: Hip-Hop and Black Activism with Dr. James Perry, Jr.  Lowell Campus, Lower Café | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM  
Explore the powerful intersection of hip-hop and social justice. This engaging session will include historical context, multimedia examples, and discussion on:
  • The roots of hip-hop in Black resistance movements
  • Hip-hop as a tool for social critique and political education
  • Connections between past and present Black activism
  • Envisioning the future of hip-hop in social justice and education
Lunch will be served approximately at 12:30 PM

Human Library Experience  Lowell Campus, Lower Café | 1:00 – 2:00 PM 
Engage in meaningful one-on-one conversations that challenge stereotypes and foster understanding. “Borrow” a person’s story and gain new perspectives through lived experiences.

Continue the creative expression at Bedford by adding your voice to our second collaborative mural installation.

Drag Bingo Bedford Campus | 2:00 – 4:00 PM 
Wrap up the day with a lively and inclusive Drag Bingo experience filled with fun, laughter, and prizes!
