Intro to Options Trading (Virtual Seminar)
Presented by Scot Weisman, MCC Class of 2013, MCC Instructor, MCC Alumni Association Board Member.

Scot Weisman is a former financial analyst with more than 40 years of hands-on experience trading options across multiple market cycles. His focus is on practical understanding, risk awareness, and separating how options truly function from how they are often marketed or misunderstood.

Wednesday, February 4, 2026
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Course Overview:

Participants will learn the mechanics of puts and calls, how expiration, exercise, and assignment function, and how option pricing works through premium and strike price. The course introduces the core risk measures known as the Greeks—delta, theta, Vega, and gamma—and explains what they mean.

Attendees will also learn how to read an option chain, understand directional option strategies, and see how implied volatility influences pricing and risk. The emphasis throughout the course is on clarity, responsible use, and understanding risk before attempting any strategy.

Target Audience:

This course is designed for adult learners who want a clear, practical understanding of stock options. It is well-suited for individual investors and active traders who want to understand how options actually work, how they are used in real markets, and how they are applied to manage risk or generate income. No prior options experience is required. Basic familiarity with stock trading is helpful but not mandatory.
