Basic Education - Adult Learning Center at MCC
We Help You Improve Your Academic Skills!
Looking to earn your high school equivalency or improve high school-level skills?
MCC's Adult Learning Center (ALC) offers FREE, noncredit adult basic education.
The ALC provides:
- Classes to improve reading, writing, math and digital skills
- Judgement-free spaces to learn and grow skills
- Preparation for high school equivalency testing, including the GED and HiSET
- Highly qualified and experienced instructors and advisors
- Help getting ready for college-level classes
Our classes primarily serve students who are preparing to take one of the High School Equivalency exams, but when space is available, we also serve students at the Intermediate to Advanced English Speaking and Reading skill level. While we are not an ESOL program, students at higher levels have found our classes help improve their skills and prepare them for college level classes.
