Middlesex Community College offers students a flexible and affordable choice to reach their goals. To provide new and returning students a second chance to start the Spring 2026 semester, Middlesex runs an eight-week, accelerated Mini-mester II. Classes start Monday, March 23.
“Our students are balancing work, family, and life commitments, and their busy schedules demand flexible learning options,” said Kayla Caron, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Management. “MCC has worked hard to make it easier for students to move forward without putting their lives on hold. Our flexible and accessible course offerings are designed to help students save both time and money while staying on track to complete a degree, certificate, or industry credential. Mini-mester sessions give students the opportunity to start classes mid-semester rather than waiting for the next traditional term. In just eight weeks, students can make meaningful progress toward general education and program requirements. These options empower students to keep momentum and reach their goals faster.”
MCC’s Mini-mesters offer the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. This allows students to fit more classes into their schedule overall.
Mini-mester course options include a variety of subjects, such as the arts and humanities, business, social science, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Classes may be offered on-campus, online, hybrid or hyflex.
All students – including those enrolled in Mini-mester II classes – may qualify for
financial aid. MCC encourages students to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for
Federal Student Aid) or MAFSA (Massachusetts Application for State Financial Aid)
to find out their eligibility.
No matter a student’s age or income, community college is now free in Massachusetts!
The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow all Massachusetts residents who have
not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free.
