Advanced Manufacturing/Robotics


Prepare for a career in advanced manufacturing in this robotics training program.  You will receive hands-on experience with mechanical and robotics training with a focus on the life science industry. Training is in partnership with the Massachusetts Life Science Center, Insulet Corporation and MassHire of Lowell Career Center. Upon successful completion you will:

  • Be prepared to work in an advanced manufacturing setting with a focus on the life science industry
  • Earn an OSHA 10 certificationand a Certified Manufacturing Associate Credential through Tooling-U
  • Have the option to interview for Manufacturing Associate and/or Technician open positions with Insulet Corporation, a medical device company based in Acton, MA. Insulet (NASDAQ: PODD) is an innovative medical device company improving the lives of people with diabetes and other conditions through its Omnipod delivery system.

Business Computer Application Certificate

This certificate course will prepare you for a position in offices where proficiency in software such as Microsoft Office suite is used. These positions include administrative assistant, customer service or data entry. Students will become proficient in computer skills such as file & folder management, system backup, device/printer setup, internet basics, password management along with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation, and calendar software packages. Intro to C++ Programming

In this online course through Ed2go, learn how to program the easy way in C++. Introduction to C++ Programming is a project-oriented course. You'll get right to programming in this course—even if you have no prior programming experience! MS Excel Advanced

Ready to learn MS Excel Advanced functions?  During our class we will cover the following topics. 
Functions: SUMIF; COUNTIF; IF with OR, IF with AND;  VLOOKUP
Data Validation:   Text, dates, currency, values, lists
PivotTables:      Creating, formatting, and refreshing PivotTables
Macros: Creating, editing and designing Marco buttons.

Pre-req:  This is not an intro class. Participants must be proficient with the following functions:  Creating and editing charts; formula auditing, creating and editing named ranges, creating and using styles and tables. Instructor will be using MS Excel 365 via Zoom but participants can have any version installed.

Google IT Support Professional Certificate/ Comp TIA A+ Exam - Hybrid

Google's IT Support Professional/CompTIA A+ Certificate is a program that prepares you for entry-level roles in IT support with no experience or degree necessary. Through a dynamic mix of video lectures, quizzes, and hands-on labs and widgets, this program introduces learners to troubleshooting, customer service, networking, operating systems, system administration, and security. The curriculum includes motivating personal stories from Google employees, with unique backgrounds and perspectives, who started their careers in IT support. Upon completion, learners receive a Google IT Support Professional Certificate badge they can display on their LinkedIn profiles.  Class consists of 12-16 hours per week of self-paced online study through a software license and 2 hours of in-class instruction with an IT professional.  Weekly office hours are included for additional support. Not eligible for tuition waivers.  (180 hours).  $2100. The CompTIA A+ exam fee is included in the tuition. Textbooks are a separate fee and not included.

Pre-requisite: A general understanding of Windows client operating systems and experience with Microsoft products and technologies is recommended. Regular access to a Microsoft based PC (MS Windows or MS Edge) is required.

Google Cybersecurity Certificate/CompTIA Security +

Gain essential cybersecurity skills with the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and CompTIA Security +. This course covers security analysis, preventing unauthorized access, programming for security tasks, using SIEM tools, intrusion detection, and packet analysis. Earn a Google Cybersecurity badge upon completion. Training consists of 5+ hours of self-study each week, supported by 2 hours of instruction with an IT professional. Office hours are included for additional support. The CompTIA Security + exam (voucher included) validates your baseline skills in core security functions and is widely recognized in the industry. More jobs use Security + for baseline cybersecurity skills than any other certification in the industry.

Pre-requisite: Participants must have a Google IT Support Professional certificate or Comp TIA A+ certification or equivalent experience. Note: Tuition waivers not applicable. (80 hours). $2700  The Comp TIA Security + exam voucher is included in the cost.

FAA Remote Pilot Certification  Exam Prep

This program will cover the required knowledge content areas of the FAA’s Remote Pilot Testing including: Regulations, The National Airspace System, Weather, Aircraft Loading and Performance, and Flight Operations.  Upon completion, students should feel qualified to take the FAA Remote Pilot Test. 
Practice Questions will also be a key factor of this course. 
A third day is also included that will focus on the safe UAS operations in the field while operating advanced training drones in various exercises.  Course participants will also learn about key safety features of certain models of UAS’s as well as how to develop and follow sound checklist procedures and maintenance protocols. 

Please note: Instructor will use common drones (Mavic or Phantom) on day 3 of the class.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own device.

  • To prepare attendees with minimal UAS experience for the FAA Remote Pilot Written examination
  • To introduce attendees to the current FAA requirements for drone operations as they apply to both private and public entities.
  • To Introduce attendees on the current FAA Remote Pilot Regulations

PRESENTER: David Price – Chief UAS Pilot Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.

David’s background is extensive in aviation higher education.  After working as a corporate pilot in the 1990’s, David’s focus change to aviation safety education.  David was a Professor of Aviation at Daniel Webster College where he developed and delivered curriculum for the College’s internationally accredited flight training program.  David was promoted to the position of Dean of Aviation Sciences at Daniel Webster College where he was responsible for all flight training and safety as well as all related academics for the college’s three aviation degree programs (flight, management, and ATC).

In 2010 David acquired the role of the Dean of Aviation at Bridgewater State University.  During his tenure there, David grew the flight training program from 37 to 142 students (283% increase). Developed the Flight Program’s first Safety Management System (SMS), achieved international academic accreditation, and was able to turn the flight training into a profitable program.

David is an FAA certified Advanced Ground Instructor and Flight Instructor.  In 2006 David was honored as Teacher of the Year by both the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Federal Aviation Administration. David is a graduate of Daniel Webster College with a BS in Aviation Management as well as an MBA.  In 2014 David received the Frank G. Brewer Award from the Civil Air Patrol for Aviation Education Excellence.
In 2016 David became the Chief UAS Pilot for Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. where he oversees all UAS operations which include survey-mapping, structures inspections, thermal imagery and training.
